baby watch day 7, what I’ve learned

March 15, 2010

I used to study Japanese. That was a long time ago. I studied it at college in the US and at college here but for the past 8 years or so, I’ve pretty much just learned from my own experiences or in a fairly passive manner.  With the wife being pregnant I’ve taken the chance to learn quite a few vocab words relating to pregnancy, again, pretty passively.  I’d like to share some of those with y’all here now.

妊娠 (にんしん) to be pregnant

Braxton-Hicks contractions

初産 (ういざん) one’s first child (pregnancy)

Well, that’s mostly what I can remember for now, if you have any questions or would like to add to the list, just throw them in the comments!

By the way, I don’t work until 4pm today so I’m hoping the wife goes into labor within the next three hours or so… if it’s not today that’s cool, but at the latest tomorrow please, I don’t want my son being born on St. Patrick’s day, that’ll create a conflict for me for the rest of my days…
