One of my favorite things in life is a day off. Thursday is one of my days off and today&s been pretty good thus far. The wife and I are watching Wrestlemania right now and the baby is sleeping. I’m watching it mostly because my nephew (and brother-in-law) went to see it (they live near Phoenix) and I wanted to be able to talk to him about it next time I see him on Skype. I played a little guitar this morning, and then went to the temple next-door to take some quick cherry blossom pictures before going grocery shopping. They were all pretty bad and I blame the wind but here’s one picture I salvaged, still not really a winner:
I might make another trip next-door later, after Wrestlemania to try to get a couple decent shots.
After grocery shopping I set about cooking today’s lunch. Since I haven’t been getting my love-bento since the wife gave birth I’ve had to eat out while at work. I know, I could cook my own bento but it’s not the same and since the wife and I don’t really eat out anyway I thought it would be a good chance to try some stuff. A couple times I’ve eaten ramen, something that I really like and haven’t eaten in ages. The wife was a bit jealous and therefore today I made her some home-cooked ramen! It was, of course, all vegetarian with a vegetable soup and vegetable toppings, it was actually really good!
The toppings were tomato (in lieu of チャーシュー), bean sprouts and cabbage (typical ramen fare), spinach, and some boiled carrots (instead of メンマ, although メンマ is vegetarian anyway). Gotta say, this was some good ラーメン.
So, guess it’s that time again, time for some pics of the boy (think I’ve turned into Casey). The first one is weird but gives you a good look at what color his hair has turned out to be, looks like my hair:
